2025 California Entrepreneurship Educators Conference (CEEC) Submission Guidelines

We are pleased to invite submissions for the 2025 California Entrepreneurship Educators Conference (CEEC), organized by the Lavin Entrepreneurship Center at San Diego State University (SDSU). The conference will take place from April 23 to April 26, 2025, on the SDSU campus in San Diego. The theme for the conference is Futurescape: Navigating Emerging Technologies and Macroenvironment Changes.

General Submission Guidelines 

Submission Type

  • Submissions should be related to either Entrepreneurship Research or Entrepreneurship Pedagogy.
  • Papers can focus on research topics, such as emerging technologies, diversity, and international entrepreneurship, or on pedagogy topics, such as teaching methods, curriculum innovations, and experiential learning.

Submission Requirements

  • Entrepreneurship-focussed papers.
  • Submissions should not exceed 800 words (please do not include reference section).
  • Authors are limited to a maximum of two submissions.

Submission Deadline

  • Submissions are due by 11:59 PM PST (California time) on October 29, 2024.
  • Authors requiring a visa to travel to the U.S. are encouraged to submit early to allow time for visa processing.

Presentation Format

  • Accepted submissions will be presented as either research papers or roundtable discussions. Authors will be notified of the specific format based on the review process.

Paper Formatting Guidelines

  • Font: 12-point Times New Roman
  • Margins: 1 inch on all sides
  • Spacing: 1.5 lines throughout the document
  • File Format: Microsoft Word (.docx or .doc)
  • Attachments
    • If attaching a file, include "See attached file" in the Introduction section and click the button at the bottom of the page.
    • Ensure that your file follows the 800-word limit.

Introduction (maximum 200 words)

  • Explain the phenomenon or issue you are investigating.
  • Discuss the scholarly conversation you are joining and the literature you are contributing to.
  • Provide a brief overview of the key findings and outline your research question/motivation for the study.

Study Background (maximum 200 words)

  • Provide an overview of the relevant literature and theoretical perspectives.
  • Identify shortcomings or gaps in the literature that necessitate your study and explain their importance.

Methods and Data (maximum 200 words)

  • Provide details about your data (including the sample) and analysis techniques.
  • Explain your rationale for adopting this methodology.
  • For work-in-progress papers, discuss the proposed research design and its appropriateness for investigating your research question.
  • For conceptual/theoretical papers, propose a research design that could be applied to test your model.

Contributions (maximum 200 words)

  • What are the main theoretical and practical implications of your study? 
  • Explain the value that scholars and practitioners can derive from your study (e.g., how the findings contribute to literature and challenge current assumptions in theory and practice). 
  • Discuss how the study advances understanding of the phenomenon or topic and what practitioners can take from your study to enhance their decisions and processes.teaching approach.

Introduction (maximum 200 words)

  • Identify the teaching challenge or gap in entrepreneurship education that your work addresses.
  • Discuss the relevance of your work to current pedagogical practices and its potential impact on entrepreneurship education.

Study Background (maximum 200 words)

  • Highlight the theoretical or practical frameworks guiding your approach to addressing educational challenges.
  • Discuss the relevance of these frameworks to entrepreneurship education.

Methods and Data (maximum 200 words)

  • Describe the teaching methods or curriculum design used.
  • Explain the learning outcomes or engagement strategies and how they were assessed.
  • For conceptual pedagogy papers, propose a method for evaluating the effectiveness of the teaching approach.

Contributions (maximum 200 words)

  • Describe how your teaching innovation enhances student learning, engagement, or entrepreneurial outcomes.
  • Discuss how your work advances entrepreneurship education and can be applied by other educators.
  • For work-in-progress papers, explain the intended contributions of your study to pedagogy and practice.
Important Notes:
  • Review Process: Submissions will be peer-reviewed, and notifications will be sent by end of the December 2024.
  • Author Limit: No author may be listed on more than two submissions.
  • Visa Requirements: International faculty requiring a visa to travel to the U.S. are encouraged to submit early to ensure sufficient time for visa processing.
