Entrepreneurship Certificate
All majors welcome!
The certificate in entrepreneurship allows students to benefit from curricular and co-curricular activities offered by the Management department, Fowler College of Business in partnership with Lavin Entrepreneurship Center, ZIP Launchpad, and Technology Transfer Office. The certificate program is designed for students who are interested in developing an entrepreneurial mindset. It is particularly suitable for those starting a business, commercializing innovative technologies, working for a start-up or leading entrepreneurial ventures within large organizations.
The certificate courses cover various aspects of the entrepreneurial process. Students gain broad and in-depth hands-on training in recognizing, evaluating, and developing entrepreneurial opportunities. Students must complete a minimum of 60 units of undergraduate coursework with a minimum GPA of 2.5 before enrolling in the certificate program. A minimum grade point average of 2.5 or better must be maintained in the 12 units of the certificate coursework, with no less than a grade of C (2.0) in any course.
Under certain circumstances a maximum of three units of transfer credit may count toward the certificate. Students may also substitute three units of certificate coursework with an entrepreneurship course from their discipline. Such courses must be evaluated and approved by the Management department chair.
