Entrepreneurship Internship Program

An entrepreneurial-focused internship program that leverages start-up thinking in a working environment.

The Entrepreneurship Internship Program

The Entrepreneurship Internship Program through the Lavin Entrepreneurship Center connects talented undergraduate and graduate students with corporations looking to make a difference in the San Diego business community. The internship program is designed to support business objectives by providing interns annually that will complete a strategic, entrepreneurially focused project for the organization or department/division. Past projects have included the development of a marketing strategy, financial analysis modeling, operations review and assessment, performing strategic product analysis and competitive marketplace due diligence.

The Program Benefits:

  • One intern per semester
  • 150 hours per semester of student time
  • The Lavin Center handles all payroll logistics
  • The ability to support the Lavin Entrepreneurship Center and students while adding value to your organization.

Apply today to participate in the Internship program.

How the Program Works:

Phase One:
Before the start of the semester, we invite San Diego corporations to submit internship applications. Meanwhile, students apply for an internship through the program by submitting resumes to the Lavin Entrepreneurship Center. Interviews are arranged for the client with students who match the project requirements.

Phase Two:
The students and organization representative meet on campus for "interview day." After interviewing 3-4 candidates, the hiring organization then selects their ideal candidate for the internship.

Phase Three:
Internships last for 150 hours over the course of one semester. The intern is the individual primarily responsible for the internship project and is expected to take leadership to ensure a successful outcome. A wrap-up event is held at the end of the semester for interns and nonprofits to present on project outcomes.

San Diego's continued success and ongoing prominence in the entrepreneurial sector depends on cultivating local talent. Sustain your leading advantage with an SDSU student intern who can help drive your business into the future. If you are interested in participating in the program please complete the application.
