The Lavin Entrepreneurship Center is proud to partner with San Diego Gas & Electric to deliver the Strategic Growth Planning for Entrepreneurs Program at San Diego State University. Please take the time to review the application carefully, make notes on providing us with the information required, then come back and complete the application in its entirety.
- Qualified businesses are certified as women-owned, minority-owned or both as defined by General Order 156. This also includes "disabled veteran business enterprise", a business concern certified by the administering agency.
- "Woman-owned" (section 1.3.2) is a business at least 51% owned by one or more women, and whose management and daily business operations are controlled by one or more women.
- "Minority-owned" (section 1.3.3) is a business at least 51% owned by one or more minority individuals, and whose management and daily operations are controlled by one or more minority individuals. Recognized minorities include Asian Americans, African Americans, Hispanic Americans and Native Americans, among others.
- It is a sole proprietorship , subsidiary or joint venture at least 51 percent owned by one or more disabled veterans or, in the case of a publicly owned business, at least 51 percent of its stock is owned by one or more disabled veterans.The company must generate over $1 million in revenue annually and have been in business for over 3 years.
