SDSU takes the Entrepreneur’s Choice Award at the 2013 VCIC Competition
2013 VCIC Team
This year, San Diego State University’s team participated in the 2013 Regional VCIC Competition held at USC and took home the Entrepreneur’s Choice Award. The graduate level Venture Capital Investment Competition (VCIC) is one in which teams comprised of five MBA students form a hypothetical venture capitalist group and decide on allocation of investment funds.
John McMillan, current MBA student and one of the advisors of SDSU’s VCIC team, had also participated in the past as a student and is very proud of the effort put forth by this team.
Jesse Kreger,Eric Wallace,Ross Bundy,Kevin Greene and Kristen Busick were all confident and poised throughout the competitive high speed environment. They handled the questions asked by the judges with strategic answers and elaborate, well thought out responses. They took advantage of their networking environment and made an effort to build rapport and relate with the entrepreneurs and venture capitalist present in the competition. It was no surprise to John that this team received the well deserved Entrepreneur’s Choice Award, a solid honor to obtain.
"This is an opportunity to put yourself in the shoes of an actual Venture Capitalist. The VCIC competition will stretch you to your limits, but you will come out of it with the expertise and confidence of an investor who can weigh the risks of investing in an early stage company and reap the exponential rewards. If you have the tenacity to be a part of a Shark Tank environment, then this is the competition for you.”
