A Collaboration Between the Lavin Entrepreneurship Center and Associated Students Sustainability Group

Startup @ State is a collaboration between the Lavin Entrepreneurship Center, Associated Students (AS), and their Sustainability Group. The goal is to offer SDSU students, parents, and the entire San Diego community a unique place to learn more about entrepreneurship and sustainability on the SDSU campus.

Lavin Entrepreneurship Center
The goal is to offer a single, highly visible resource for all things entrepreneurship related on the SDSU campus. Expected services and programs could include:

  • Partner with Zahn Innovation Center and other groups on campus to provide cross disciplinary student-based activities to promote entrepreneurship
  • Entrepreneurship resources for students and visiting guests (i.e. majors, minors, resources, centers, competitions, etc.)
  • Student based workshops on entrepreneurship (i.e. social, sustainable and for profit, etc.)
  • A weekly "Coffee with an Entrepreneur" series for the entire semester
  • Entrepreneur Society club meetings and workshops; offer other SDSU clubs opportunities to host events
  • Monthly cross-campus ideation workshops in industries students find interesting
  • Provide students opportunity for art exhibitions and film viewings to promote student interaction
  • Showcase 3-4 SDSU startups working in Startup @ State and paying micro rent

Associated Students Sustainability
The goal is to offer insights and services related to sustainability on the SDSU campus to students, staff, and visiting guests. The space will be used to:

  • Highlight sustainability efforts on the campus by holding regular events
  • Provide a sustainability overview of the student union via an ?art gallery? display of materials
  • Coordinate student union sustainability tours to showcase sustainability innovations
  • Provide workshops on sustainability for students across the campus
  • Provide sustainability products and services (i.e. green copier, etc.)
  • Offer collaborative workshops on entrepreneurship and sustainable efforts.

Competition makes you stronger. If our top competitor didn't exist, we would have to make them up.
