Start-up Entrepreneurship Internship Program
The Start-up Entrepreneurship Internship Program
The internship program through the Lavin Entrepreneurship companies talented undergraduate and graduate students with looking to make a difference in the San Diego business community by supporting the growth of an entrepreneurially minded student. The internship program is designed to support startups by interns that will complete a strategic, entrepreneurially focused project for the organization. Past projects have included market research, financial audits, market and industry research, and much more.
The Program Benefits:
- One intern per semester
- 150 hours per semester of student time
- The Lavin Center handles all payroll directly
- The ability to support the Lavin Entrepreneurship Center and students while adding value to your organization.
How the Program Works:
Before the start of the semester, we invite San Diego companies to submit internship applications. Meanwhile, students apply for an internship through the program by submitting resumes to the Lavin Entrepreneurship Center. Interviews are arranged for the client with students who match the project requirements.
The students and organization representative meet on campus for "interview day." After interviewing 3-4 candidates, the hiring organization then selects their ideal candidate for the internship.
The intern and organization representative are invited to an internship kick-off and wrap-up each semester. This event is a breakfast or lunch held at the Lavin Entrepreneurship Center. The kick-off allows all parties to connect and confirm the scope of the internship and agree upon the deliverables. The intern is the individual primarily responsible for the internship project and is expected to take leadership to ensure a successful outcome.
San Diego's continued success and ongoing prominence in the entrepreneurial sector depends on cultivating local talent. Sustain your leading advantage with an SDSU student intern who can help drive your business into the future. If you are interested in participating in the program please complete the application. If you have questions about the application process please email Cyrus at firstname.lastname@example.org or call (619)246-5235.
