Center For Commercialization of Advanced Technology

An Entrepreneurial Partnership for Technology CommercializationCenter For Commercialization of Advanced Technology (CCAT)

The Center for Commercialization of Advanced Technology (CCAT) is a unique partnership that was designed to accelerate the development and application of advanced technologies to solve real-world problems. For this program, the SDSU Research Foundation, UCSD's Jacob School of Engineering, CONNECT, the Security Network, and the Navy's SPAWAR Systems Center joined together in a $29 million Department of Defense (DOD) sponsored technology commercialization program.

CCAT was designed to fast track DOD, industry, and academic technologies into commercial and defense related enterprises. Subject technologies have led to new start-up ventures and incorporated into companies.

CCAT has offered the following services at no cost for selected technologies:

  • Commercial Feasibility Studies
  • Prototype Development, Test & Evaluation Funding
  • Research & Development Funding
  • Market Analysis Studies
  • Business Plan Development
  • Venture Finance Connectivity
  • DOD Acquisition Assistance
