Student Spotlight - Javon OgbeideJavon Ogbeide is a junior studying Business Management at SDSU. Javon has recently returned from Rome where he learned about entrepreneurship from a global perspective. "I believe learning about entrepreneurship in a different country granted me a competitive advantage. I expected to bring home a broader perspective of the business environment along with the tools and framework to understand a potential startup opportunity or failure," said Ogbeide. Javon believes in universalism in business, importance of each opportunity and the significance of adaptation as a key component to success. "Studying abroad certainly allowed me to have a superior and a more global outlook. The key to adapting is not to think of your lifestyle back home as a bench mark, and think of your current living as a learning matter," he continued.
Javon also participates in many community service activities in San Diego, including the co- creation of a Brother 2 Brother Program with Monte Vista High School, assistance with the Jackie Robinson YMCA Halloween Carnival, and the 7th Annual Rady Children's Hospital Family Walk. "This involvement has sculpted me into a model of excellence in scholarship, leadership, and service," said Ogbeide.
