Entrepreneurship Week at SDSU

Announcing Entrepreneurship Week at SDSU

Entrepreneur Week In March the Lavin Entrepreneurship Center will host the first annual Entrepreneurship Week at San Diego State. Entrepreneurship Week will consist of different events celebrating the entrepreneurial spirit that is prevalent on the SDSU campus. The weeklong events will take place between Monday, March 2nd and Saturday, March 7th.

Bowling with Entrepreneurs will kick off the week, inviting entrepreneurs from the community to interact and network with SDSU students while bowling at the Aztec Lanes in the Student Union. The following day the Zahn Innovation Center Challenge will take center-stage, inviting SDSU students, faculty and staff, with ideas at various stages of development, to present and complete for funding and in-cash prizes. On Wednesday, March 4th, Centennial Walkway will transform into an entrepreneurial village as SDSU alumni and student-run companies promote and sell their products and services on the campus during Entrepreneur Day.

The latter half of the week will feature two other interactive events. The California Entrepreneurship Educators Conference will take place on March 5th and March 6th, with the first day dedicated to the future of entrepreneurship research and the second day focusing on cutting edge pedagogy. Simultaneously, the 3rd Annual LeanModel™ Competition will kick off and the Zahn Innovation Center Challenge Finals will be held on March 6th, with teams from across the nation competing to win awards. The LeanModel™ semi-finals and finals will be held the following day on March 7th.

Entrepreneurship Week promises to be a can’t miss experience! If you are interested in participating in any of the events listed, please call the Lavin Entrepreneurship Center at 619-594-2781.

Hire Qualified Students at Upcoming LaunchIn Event

LaunchIn 2015 In April 2015, the Lavin Entrepreneurship Center is once again teaming with the Entrepreneur Society to host the semiannual LaunchIn event. In the past, this event has drawn large crowds of students from across the San Diego State University campus looking to connect with a diverse array of start-ups and early-stage companies.

The two-part event will kick off with a panel of entrepreneur founders addressing an audience of SDSU students and answering their questions. Immediately afterward, students will be invited to attend the career fair-like second half of the event where they will have the opportunity to engage with local companies looking to hire interns and full-time employees.

If you are a start-up or early-growth company in San Diego looking for interns or employees and you would like to join us for LaunchIn on April 22nd, please contact Madisyn Prior at or 619-594-2781.
