Entrepreneurship Graduate Courses and Learning Outcomes

Below are the course requirements for completion of an MBA with a Specialization in Entrepreneurship at the SDSU's College of Business. It is not required to take the courses in this order, however it is highly recommended.

MBA Core Courses
The following courses are required as part of the core education:

Financial Reporting & Analysis (BA 650)
Organizational Behavior (BA 651)
Statistical Analysis (BA 652)
Managerial Economics (BA 653)
Marketing (BA 655)
Operations Management (BA 662)
Financial Management I (BA 665)

Corporate Responsibility
One course is required from the following (3 units):

Seminar in Regulatory & Management Controls (ACCTG 681)
Legal Environment for Executives (FIN 604)
Information Systems Security Management (MIS 755)
Seminar in Business Ethics & Social Institutions (MGT 722)
Seminar in Corporate Governance (MGT 746)

Management of Technology Issues in Business
One course is required from the following (3 units):

Information Systems in Organizations (MIS 688)
Decision Support Systems (MIS 691)

Required Foundation Entrepreneurship Courses
The following courses are required for the Entrepreneurship Specialization:

Entrepreneurship (MGT 724)
Financing the Emerging Enterprise (FIN 641)

Entrepreneurship Electives
To meet the minimum requirements of the MBA Degree, select one of the following courses for your Program of Study (POS). If there is room in your POS (based on a waiver of pre-requisite courses) we recommend that you select additional courses from this list to complete your POS.

Strategic Management of Technology & Innovation (MGT 731)
Managing the Growing Firm (MGT 744)
Corporate Entrepreneurship (MGT 745)
Technology Commercialization (MGT 747)
International Entrepreneurship (MGT 748)
Family Business Management (MGT 749)
Product Innovation Management (MKTG 761)
Field Studies in Business (BA 780)

Entrepreneurship Required Capstone Course
This course is required for completion of the MBA with a Specialization in Entrepreneurship and it is recommended that it is taken during the last semester of study if possible. Please check schedule of classes for semesters offered.

Business Plan Development (MGT 743)

MBA Required Culminating Experience
One of the following is required during your last semester to graduate:

Integrative Business Analysis (BA795)
Thesis (BA 799A)
