Michael Hergert

Michael_h Michael Hergert is a professor of management at San Diego State University (SDSU) College of Business Administration (CBA), where he teaches courses in Strategic Management and International Business. Currently Professor Hergert teaches the graduate course Field Studies in Business. Professor Hergert has held several leadership roles at SDSU including his terms as Dean and Associate Dean of the CBA, and serving as Co-Director of the Center for International Business Education and Research (CIBER).

Professor Hergert is also active in research initiatives that investigate industry economics, international management, and competitive strategy. Prior to starting his career in academics, Dr. Hergert was a consultant with McKinsey and Company in Dusseldorf, Germany, and the Director of Strategic Planning Applications at Data Resources, Inc., in Lexington, Massachusetts.
